PARSIPPANY, N.J. (January 29, 2019) – Wyndham Grand, the upper-upscale brand of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: WH), the world’s largest hotel company with more than 9,000 hotels in more than 80 countries, is slated to debut in six new destinations around the world in 2019: California, U.S.; Cam Ranh, Vietnam; Mexico City, Mexico; Kayseri, Turkey; Tblisi, Georgia; and Crete, Greece.
Two of the new hotels – located in Cam Ranh, Vietnam and Mexico City, Mexico – will be managed by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ growing management company, adding to the more than 400 hotels operated by the company globally and expanding its upscale managed capabilities into new countries.
Wyndham Grand is an ensemble of distinctive hotels that are approachable by design, representing one-of-a-kind experiences with sophisticated elegance. The new hotels will join the brand’s 39 existing awe-inspiring locations including Istanbul; Chicago; Shanghai; and Manama, where the first Wyndham Grand in Bahrain, also managed by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, opened in 2017.
“Travelers are seeking out new destinations and crossing borders more than ever before; in the last two decades alone the number of international travelers around the world has more than doubled to nearly 1.3 billion,” said Bob Loewen, Chief Operating Officer for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “We’re strategically expanding Wyndham Grand’s presence around the world in the destinations travelers so eagerly want to explore, whether it’s the shores of Greek Isles, a unique pocket of culture in Southern California, the centuries-old historic capital of Georgia or wherever their bucket list takes them.”
In addition to the hotels planned for 2019, the brand’s pipeline comprises approximately 25 hotels including new destinations in St. Kitts and Nevis, Barbados, Belize and a new dual-branded Wyndham Grand and TRYP by Wyndham® hotel in Miami, Florida.
Westminster California, U.S.
Slated to be part of multi-use development, Wyndham Grand in Westminster will be the brand’s first hotel in California. The hotel will offer 144 guestrooms – making it the largest and only full-service hotel in Westminster — in addition to flexible meeting and event space and a full-service restaurant. Steps away from Westminster’s Little Saigon Tourist Commercial District on Bolsa Avenue, the hotel empowers travelers to explore the hub of Vietnamese dining and culture in the largest Vietnamese community outside of Vietnam.
The hotel is also situated near the city of Garden Grove, California State Route 22 (Garden Grove Freeway) and just seven miles from Disneyland. It’s also a short drive from Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach and the Pacific Ocean.
Wyndham Grand Cam Ranh, Vietnam
Wyndham Grand Cam Ranh is situated on a 27-hole golf course overlooking the nearby ocean designed by renowned Australian golfer Greg Norman. The hotel offers luxurious accommodation options as well as multiple restaurants and bars, swimming pools, spa and wellness facilities and a convention centre. Cam Ranh, with pristine beaches and deep waters, is a growing tourist destination thanks to the recent expansion of Cam Ranh International Airport and increasing numbers of international flights.
Vietnam is an increasingly popular destination for international travelers. Named one of Travel + Leisure’s 50 Best Places to Travel in 2019, Vietnam welcomed more than 14 million visitors in 2018 – a staggering 21% increase over last year.
Wyndham Grand Mexico City La Condesa, Mexico
The 400-room Wyndham Grand Mexico City La Condesa is the first Wyndham Grand in Mexico. The hotel is situated within the unique Roma-Condesa neighborhood boasting more than 1,500 buildings classified as architectural heritage – including the hotel itself, which will conserve the original architecture while applying contemporary interior design and modern amenities including unique dining and flexible meeting space.
Mexico welcomed nearly 40 million travelers in 2017, a record number of visitors and a nearly 12% increase from the prior year. Mexico City, the heart of the country and a thriving historic destination, is the perfect new home for Wyndham Grand’s unique take on approachable luxury for both families and business travelers.
Wyndham Grand Kayseri, Turkey
Opened in mid-January, Wyndham Grand Kayseri boasts 205 guest rooms and eight meeting rooms, accommodating up to 1,185 people. The hotel also offers traditional Turkish cuisine in its Kale Roof restaurant, complemented by drinks in the lobby lounge or onsite City Pub. Guests also have access to a fitness center and a relaxing spa with a sauna, steam bath and pool.
The hotel is the fifth Wyndham Grand in Turkey and the first in Kayseri, a city with a strong commercial draw for business travelers and a popular ski destination. The hotel is situated near the 60,000-acre Sultan Sazligi National Park which houses more than 300 species of birds.
Wyndham Grand Tbilisi, Georgia
Wyndham Grand Tbilisi, in the heart of Georgia’s capital, is expected to open during the summer and will be managed by McInerney Hospitality International Georgia. The hotel will be located centrally on Freedom Square, adjacent to the National Museum of Georgia and close to a host of other attractions. Set across eight floors, the hotel has been designed by renowned Georgian architect Paata Jgarkava and will include 161 stylish guest rooms and suites.
Tourism is one of the largest economic sectors in the country, with 8 million travelers expected to visit Georgia this year. Wyndham Grand Tbilisi is the latest addition to the company’s overall footprint in Georgia, including Ramada Encore Tbilisi, which opened earlier this year, as well as Wyndham Batumi. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts plans to add four more hotels in Georgia over the next three years.
Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay, Greece
Wyndham will enter the Greek islands with its first upper-upscale hotel in Crete, Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay, adding the renowned Mirabello Beach & Village Resort to the Wyndham Grand brand. The seaside resort and meetings destination is located minutes from Agios Nikolaos in the famed Elounda region of Crete.
Wyndham Grand Mirabello will offer 311 guest rooms, more than 6,000 square feet (520 square meters) of meeting space, five restaurants and bars and a variety of leisure facilities spread across two of the region’s most popular beaches for sunning, swimming and boating.
Greece has seen the largest increase in visitor numbers of any European destination in this decade, expecting to total a record 32 million foreign travelers in 2018. The addition to Wyndham Grand Crete Mirabello Bay expands on Wyndham’s partnership with Zeus International, a consulting, hotel management and development services company in Greece. The companies are also partnering to bring the first upscale Wyndham® branded hotel to Cyprus, Wyndham Nicosia, and have an ongoing partnership to develop 20 hotels over 10 years across Greece, Cyprus, Italy and the Balkans.

Steady flow of new construction openings in U.S. boosts brand’s footprint in first full quarter under Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
The brand new La Quinta Inn & Suites Suites Opelika-Auburn in Opelika, Ala., was one of seven new La Quinta by Wyndham hotels to open in Q3 2018.Click to Download
PARSIPPANY, N.J.(Nov. 13, 2018) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchisor with more than 9,000 hotels and 20 iconic brands, bolstered its leading network of midscale offerings in the third quarter of 2018 and strengthened the presence of its La Quinta by Wyndham brand with the opening of seven hotels across the U.S.
The latest La Quinta additions in South Jordan and Kanab, Utah; Opelika and Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Aberdeen, Md.; Duncanville, Texas; and Columbus, Miss., bring the brand’s growing U.S. footprint to nearly 900 hotels. Six of the seven are newly built destinations, signifying Wyndham’s strategic efforts to drive hotel consistency and quality through new-construction growth, as well as indicating continued keen interest among hotel owners to add new La Quinta locations to their portfolios.
La Quinta’s roster of openings in its first full quarter since being acquired by Wyndham earlier this year demonstrates the Company’s steadfast commitment to expanding its newest flag in key markets, largely through new construction. Further propelling the brand’s growth, Wyndham executed 10 La Quinta franchise agreements between July 1 and September 30, 2018, nine of which were new construction deals. As of September 30, 2018, 90 percent of the 260 hotels in the brand’s pipeline were new construction.
“Hotel developers choose La Quinta time and time again because of the brand’s long-standing reputation for delivering quality, dependability, and great guest experiences,” said Rajiv Trivedi, president, La Quinta at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “These recent additions represent the best of what La Quinta has to offer, and our robust new-construction pipeline is testament to the brand’s tenacious growth potential. With Wyndham’s scale and distribution we’ll continue partnering with passionate owners to raise more brand flags in high-demand areas.”
Opening Doors in the U.S.
The six newly built hotels that joined La Quinta in the third quarter are:
La Quinta Inn & Suites Opelika-Auburn in Opelika, Ala.;
La Quinta Inn & Suites Tuscaloosa-McFarland in Tuscaloosa, Ala.;
La Quinta Inn & Suites Aberdeen APG in Aberdeen, Md.;
La Quinta Inn & Suites Dallas-Duncanville in Duncanville, Texas;
La Quinta Inn & Suites South Jordan in South Jordan, Utah; and
La Quinta Inn & Suites Kanab in Kanab, Utah.
The seventh addition, La Quinta Inn & Suites Columbus in Columbus, Miss., underwent a complete renovation to transform all guest rooms and public spaces, infusing a fresh, modern look while incorporating the enhanced amenities guests have come to expect from the brand.
Each of the new hotels reflects La Quinta’s guest-inspired, owner-friendly Del Sol prototype. The design combines clean geometric lines, bold colors, and varying textures with iconic brand elements and guest-centric offerings to enhance the experience while maximizing revenue-generating space for hotel developers. Thirty-five Del Sol hotels are currently under construction in the U.S., with 40 already open and operating.
Like each of its more than 910 upper-midscale and midscale hotels in North and Latin America, La Quinta’s newest additions offer the brand’s signature pillow-top Bright Morning Bed®, free Bright Side Breakfast®, and spacious in-room work areas. Additional features include the Great Room, a comfortable and spacious social gathering space; a state-of-the-art fitness center; free high-speed Wi-Fi; and meeting space.
Driving Development
La Quinta’s third-quarter openings pace continues a year of solid development momentum. So far in 2018, the brand has surpassed the 900-hotel mark and celebrated 19 openings – nearly 70 percent of which were new construction – including global debuts in Santiago, Chile, and León, Mexico. These brand new hotels in Latin America are conveniently located near Santiago’s international airport and in the heart of León, catering to travelers looking for comfortable, dependable lodging, and top-rated service while visiting these bustling cities.
“The growing global middle class, which is expected to grow by 160 million people each year for the next five years, is traveling more and seeking out value-driven experiences, steering the need for quality accommodations at affordable price points around the world,” said Bob Loewen, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Such demand puts a trusted, fast-growing select-service brand like La Quinta in an opportune position to branch out in sought-after markets like South America and debut in new ones like Europe, where we’re aiming to introduce the brand by the end of the year.”
Wyndham’s May 2018 acquisition of La Quinta strengthened the Company’s position as a midscale lodging leader with approximately 37 percent of branded rooms in the segment in the U.S.

Latest addition in Yunnan Province bolsters Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ position as largest U.S.-based hotel company in China
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts marks its landmark 100th Ramada® by Wyndham location in the country with the opening of the 194-room Ramada Plaza Fuxian Lake.Click to Download
PARSIPPANY, N.J.(Oct. 18, 2018) – Expanding its established presence of over 1,400 hotels in China, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchisor with nearly 9,000 hotels and 20 iconic brands and the largest U.S.-based hotel company in China, recently marked its landmark 100th Ramada® by Wyndham location in the country with the opening of the 194-room Ramada Plaza Fuxian Lake.
Wyndham, which acquired the international rights to the Ramada flag in 2004 with just 14 hotels in China, has steadily grown the brand’s presence in key business and leisure travel markets there – including Shanghai, Beijing, Xiamen, and Chongqing, among others – offering a globally-recognized and trusted hotel name to the country’s ever-growing base of travelers. Today, the brand’s footprint consists of over 850 locations in more than 60 countries around the world.
“The increasing travel habits and spending among China’s burgeoning middle class – which is expected to grow to more than 500 million people by 2022 – continues to drive the need for a range of quality, value-driven accommodations throughout the country, from urban to rural destinations,” said Bob Loewen, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
“Ramada has delivered sought-after lodging options and high-caliber service around the world for six-plus decades. Reaching this milestone of 100 hotels in China signifies the confidence and trust hotel owners and guests have in the internationally renowned brand, and highlights the vast opportunities to continue expanding Ramada even further in the region,” he continued.
Located in Yunnan Province’s Changjiang County, the newly constructed Ramada Plaza Fuxian Lake is situated within Southwest China’s mountain landscape close to the Lucong Scenic Area, Maotianshan Mountain National Geo-Park, and Kunming International Airport. The tranquility of nearby Fuxian Lake – a popular attraction located just five kilometers away – inspired the hotel’s relaxing design elements, like its wavy exterior and neutral color palettes.
Services and amenities at China’s newest Ramada include two eateries, daily free breakfast offering traditional Sichuan and Yunnan cuisine, a heated indoor pool, a fitness center, and free Wi-Fi. The hotel’s 760 square meters of meeting and event space comprises five meeting rooms accommodating up to 600 guests.
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts currently has seven brands spanning all segments operating in China, including Ramada, Super 8® by Wyndham, Days Inn® by Wyndham, and its flagship Wyndham® chain. The Company debuted two of its brands in the country in the past year – the lifestyle TRYP by Wyndham flag and the award-winning midscale Wingate by Wyndham® name – with the openings of new hotels in Xian and Sanya.

Award-winning midscale hotel brand debuts in China and bolsters North American offerings;
Continued midscale growth further strengthens Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ segment leadership position
PARSIPPANY, N.J.(Sept. 25, 2018) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchisor with nearly 9,000 hotels and 20 powerhouse brands, is bolstering its network of midscale hotels and extending the global footprint of its award-winning Wingate by Wyndham® brand with the recent opening of 14 locations across both hemispheres, including the first Wingate hotel in China and new additions to the brand’s established presence in the U.S. and Canada.
Wingate is suited for travelers seeking balance in work, life, and everything in between, offering what’s needed to stay connected, productive, and ready for whatever comes next – like inviting, contemporary lounges; free breakfast; flexible and functional meeting space; and spacious guest rooms. The introduction of its first hotel in China, plus additions across the U.S. and British Columbia, Canada, brings the expanding brand’s global presence to nearly 170 hotels. As of June 30, 2018, Wingate’s global pipeline consisted of 74 hotels, nearly 60 percent of which were new construction.
“The global middle class, which is growing steadily at an estimated rate of 160 million people each year, continues to travel more and seek out great experiences and value,” said Tom Barber, chief development and strategy officer, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Expanding Wingate in high-demand markets around the world exposes the brand to new circles of travelers, and doing so with established hotel developers sharing our passion for delivering consistent, guest-centric experiences will help propel continued growth and success.”
U.S. Surge
Driving Wingate’s latest growth spurt in the U.S. is a newly-signed franchise agreement with State Bank of Texas for 10 hotels across the Midwest and Northeast; the addition of an 80-room hotel in Moses Lake, Wash.; and the opening of the newly constructed, 123-room Wingate by Wyndham Nashville Airport, the brand’s first location in Nashville, which is consistently named as one of the top places to visit. Located three miles from Nashville International Airport and 10 miles from downtown, the hotel puts travelers close to where they need to be. Features include 123 modern, spacious guest rooms; the brand’s signature comfortable communal lobby space; free Wi-Fi and daily breakfast; laundry services; and two meeting rooms.
The hotel reflects the brand’s design-driven prototype, created to meet travelers’ needs without skimping on services and amenities while also lowering development costs and capturing greater efficiencies for hotel owners. This is the first of four Wingate hotels owned by Corinthian Development Company to open in the U.S., with locations under construction and set to open in the next year in Seattle, Wash.; San Jose, Cali.; and Denver, Colo. The brand plans to add a newly built location in Long Island City, N.Y., in 2019.
Debuting in China
Wingate by Wyndham Sanya Luhuitou, located in the heart of China’s tropical island getaway in Hainan Province, is the brand’s first hotel in China and the Asia Pacific region. With its temperate climate, the expansion of international flights, and greater visa-free access for tourists arriving to Hainan from more than 50 countries, tourism and demand in Sanya is on the rise making it a prime market for hotel development.
Designed for vacationers reveling in China’s popular seaside destination, the newly constructed modern oasis features three outdoor pools, multiple bars and restaurants, a kids club with indoor and outdoor play areas, an extensive art collection, free Wi-Fi, and a 24/7 shuttle to nearby Dadonghai Beach. The resort’s 190 contemporarily-designed guest rooms and suites come complete with sitting areas, spacious bathrooms, and balconies with stunning mountain, garden, or harbor views.
Wyndham plans to expand the Wingate brand further in China, with a 345-room hotel in Xining set to open in 2020.
British Columbia Bound
The addition of the brand’s latest Canadian destination – the 83-room Wingate by Wyndham Kamloops – marks the brand’s debut in British Columbia and widens its current footprint in the country to eight hotels.
Located off the Trans-Canada Highway near the North and South Thompson Rivers, the hotel puts guests in the heart of scenic Kamloops, which saw a record year of tourism growth in 2017 with nearly two million visitors. The newly constructed hotel features modern design and natural earth tones; free hot breakfast and Wi-Fi; a relaxing indoor pool and hot tub; a well-equipped fitness center; an on-site mart; and 750 square feet of meeting space.
Wyndham will continue adding to Wingate’s Canadian roster, having recently signed deals for two hotels in Lethbridge, Alberta, and Kanata, Ontario, expected to open in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
“Regardless of their reason for staying with us, Wingate’s top priority is delivering best-in-class service to each guest who walks through our doors and each hotel owner who raises the brand’s flag,” said Larry Hambro, vice president of operations, Wingate by Wyndham. “Satisfaction scores ranking it high above the competition year after year combined with consistent high performance and an efficient, modern prototype design, are driving forces behind Wingate’s current expansion momentum in North America.”

World’s largest hotel franchisor celebrates first La Quinta to break ground since acquisition; TRYP by Wyndham’s fourth Florida destination will bring urban lifestyle to the theme park capital of the world
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (June 28, 2018) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchisor with nearly 9,000 hotels and 20 powerhouse brands, is building its presence in Orlando, commencing side-by-side construction of two hotels under its La Quinta® and TRYP by Wyndham® brand flags on the famed International Drive close to the area’s best known attractions. The hotels mark the ninth La Quinta location in the Orlando market – the first to break ground since Wyndham acquired the leading midscale brand – and the city’s first TRYP by Wyndham hotel.
The La Quinta and TRYP by Wyndham hotels – both owned and developed by Miami-based Riviera Point Development Group and set to open in 2019 and 2020, respectively – will share a three-plus-acre site in the country’s most popular destination for visitors. The city became the first in the U.S. to surpass 70 million tourists, according to Visit Orlando, attracting 72 million visitors in 2017 – up from 68 million the previous year.
The new developments will widen Wyndham’s already sizable network of more than 50 hotels across 12 brands in the Orlando market.
“Orlando continues to draw travelers at a record-setting pace, creating new opportunities through relationships with established developers like Riviera Point Development Group to offer varied accommodations meeting the ever-evolving needs of travelers,” said Chip Ohlsson, executive vice president and chief development officer, North America, at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Expanding our portfolio of offerings with these two brands in particular – our trusted La Quinta name and cosmopolitan TRYP by Wyndham flag – delivers two distinct, high-quality experiences in a top destination flowing with a diverse network of holidaymakers and business travelers from around the world.”
Rising in Orlando
La Quinta
The four-story La Quinta hotel will feature 101 modern guest rooms; a comfortable and multifunctional great room for guests to gather, relax, or work; a fully equipped fitness center; a pool; and approximately 750 square feet of meeting space. Upon opening, it will join eight hotels already operating in the market under the La Quinta flag, and it will be the first in the city to reflect the brand’s contemporary Del Sol prototype. The Del Sol design combines clean geometric lines, bold colors, and varying textures with iconic brand elements, like La Quinta’s recognizable red-clay roof, and guest-centric offerings to enhance the stay experience while also helping maximize revenue-per-square foot for hotel developers.
Like all of the brand’s approximately 900 upper-midscale and midscale La Quinta and LQ Hotel™ locations in North and Latin America, the new La Quinta in Orlando will offer guests the brand’s signature Bright Morning Bed®, free Bright Side Breakfast®, spacious in-room work areas and free high-speed internet.
“La Quinta has long been a highly desirable, fast-growing brand that both hotel developers and travelers know and trust,” said Raj Trivedi, president of the La Quinta brand at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “To continue this growth in such a viable market with our efficient, guest-focused Del Sol design – and to do so under the umbrella of a leading hospitality company in Wyndham – is a significant milestone as we focus our efforts on planting the La Quinta flag in new destinations around the country.”
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts closed on its acquisition of La Quinta in May 2018, bolstering its position as a midscale lodging leader with approximately 37 percent of branded rooms in the midscale segment. The company immediately made status match and 1:1 point transfer available between Wyndham Rewards® and La Quinta ReturnsTM as it works to integrate the brand into Wyndham’s award-winning loyalty program by the second quarter of 2019.
TRYP by Wyndham
Slated to open in 2020, the new TRYP by Wyndham in Orlando becomes the fourth hotel in Florida for the growing cosmopolitan brand. Celebrating the spirit of the urban traveler, each TRYP hotel is infused with local spirit allowing guests to uncover each destination’s individual culture and setting the stage for authentic, local experiences. The 98-room hotel will offer the brand’s hallmark social lobby, library space and small meeting room; a bar and restaurant featuring TRYP’s signature tapas, or small plates, service; a gym; and an outdoor pool.
With its unique cities and range of experiences, Florida remains a top market for the brand which recently opened TRYP by Wyndham Sebastian St. Augustine, TRYP by Wyndham Maritime Fort Lauderdale and TRYP by Wyndham Miami Bay Harbor in “The Sunshine State”. The brand’s global pipeline includes approximately 4,000 rooms and 29 hotels, including Florida locations such as Coral Gables, Miami and Kissimmee.
