Building on the Company’s world-class technology and marketing stacks, innovative offerings help owners streamline operations, enhance the guest experience and increase profitability

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2023) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,100 hotels across more than 95 countries, today announced new efforts to further elevate the hotel ownership experience for its franchisees around the globe—debuting new, state-of-the-art, owner and guest engagement platforms. Unveiled today during the Company’s 2023 Global Conference in Anaheim, Calif., the tools come at no additional cost to Wyndham franchisees.

“Every day we’re helping our owners open doors to best-in-class technology, more efficient operations, better guest experiences and more profitable hotels,” said Geoff Ballotti, president and CEO, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “With award-winning brands, the number one hotel rewards program, a record development pipeline and historic levels of franchisee engagement and retention—there’s never been a better time to be a part of the world’s largest, and fastest growing, pure-play hotel franchising company.”

Driving Performance Through Community
Developed with help and insight from Wyndham’s franchise advisory and brand councils, Wyndham Community—the Company’s new owner engagement platform—marks a significant advancement for hotel owners looking to streamline and simplify management of their hotel operations, regardless of whether they own a single hotel or a portfolio spanning multiple brands and segments.

Offering actionable insights to help maximize hotel profitability, Wyndham Community seamlessly connects hotel owners to the day-to-day performance of their business while delivering a constant connection to the scale and resources of the world’s largest hotel franchisor. Through the tool, owners can access real-time insights on key business metrics across their portfolio, from anywhere and any device, while also keeping tabs on high-priority tasks and other key action items. Wyndham Community also provides a direct connection to operational support while serving as owners’ primary destination for vital news and updates.

Enhancing the Guest Experience
Wyndham’s new guest engagement platform, powered by Canary Technologies, further enhances the guest experience by providing hotel owners with a series of best-in-class, mobile-centric tools, helping them better cater to today’s travelers and their evolving needs. Slated to start rolling out in the coming weeks, it’s built around four key areas:

  • AI-Driven Property Messaging
Integrating directly with Wyndham’s next-gen property management systems (SynXis Property Hub and Opera Cloud), guests can text hotels directly for any needs throughout their stay. Frequently asked questions are answered by Wyndham Hospitality AI, freeing hotel staff to focus on other guest needs.
  • Smart Mobile Check-In
Building on Wyndham’s first-mover status to bring mobile check-in and checkout to the economy segment, this newest offering helps protect hotels against unwarranted chargebacks and fraud by incorporating credit card and ID verification prior to guests’ arrival, significantly speeding up the check-in process.
  • Dynamic Upsell
Hotels can engage guests in advance of their stay, offering enhancements like early check-in, late checkout and room upgrades. In doing so, hotel owners can now easily unlock new opportunities to boost revenue and their bottom line.
  • Smart Mobile Checkout
Upon checkout, housekeeping is automatically notified a new room is ready for cleaning while the checkout screen on the guest’s device asks for a review of the stay. On average, pilot properties are seeing a 25% increase in positive reviews.

Unlocking the Wyndham Advantage
Wyndham’s new owner and guest engagement platforms join a growing list of additional tools and resources, which collectively offer franchisees The Wyndham Advantage. From next-gen property and revenue management systems to opt-in, revenue-boosting, ancillary services like its Signature Reservation Services to loyalty-building incentives like The Rewards Circle; Wyndham continues to dedicate the full scope and scale of its resources to the long-term success of its franchisees. Over the last five years, the Company has invested more than $275 million in technology—delivering industry-first sales, marketing and digital innovations—all while expanding its on-the-ground operational support of hotels.

Adding to that growing list of firsts is Wyndham’s new OTA reconciliation tool. Aimed at correcting the OTA overbilling that can occur when a guest no-shows, cancels or shortens their reservation, the tool automatically reconciles each hotel’s stay data with the commissions previously charged at the time of booking. In instances of misalignment, the tool reconciles those stays so the appropriate commission is charged. Historically a manual process, or one which hotels needed to outsource to a third-party for a fee, the Wyndham-provided service is available today at no additional cost to franchisees and currently covers all bookings made through Expedia and its affiliated brands.

Wyndham’s 2023 Global Conference runs through Thursday, September 14. Built around the theme of “Opening Doors,” the 3-day, in-person event is known for being one of the largest gatherings of hoteliers and hotel suppliers in the world. America’s trusted roadside brand embarks on an epic eight-city road trip while helping some of its most loyal guests—truck drivers—get road ready for the journey ahead

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (August 8, 2023) – The open road never looked so good. Super 8® by Wyndham, the economy hotel brand known for being travelers’ trusted companion on the road, today kicked-off a year-long celebration for its upcoming 50th anniversary with a pop-up salon in the brand’s home state of South Dakota. Nearly 50 years young and sporting a more than $140 million brand refresh, the activation is the start of an epic eight-city road trip across the Midwest as Super 8 looks to help some of its most rugged and loyal guests—truck drivers—get a fresh new look for the journey ahead.

“We’ve come a long way since opening our doors in 1974, and while we’ll soon turn 50, our hotels, many of which have undergone head-to-toe room renovations these last several years, certainly don’t look or feel it,” said Mike Mueller, president, Super 8 by Wyndham. “Inspired by our own modern makeover, now we want to help our guests look and feel as good as we do, and we’re starting with some of our favorite, most rugged road warriors out there—the heroes of our highways—truckers.”

Helping highway long haulers find their new look is entrepreneur and hairstylist to the stars, Kim Kimble, who is also known for her recent work on HBO’s hit series Euphoria. A third-generation hair stylist, Kimble started her career as a shampoo girl at her family’s salon in Los Angeles before rising up the ranks as a trailblazer in the beauty industry.

“I love transforming people to feel their best. When I can help someone gain confidence or a little extra pep in their step, it’s like I’m making the world a little brighter, said Kimble. “We all know truckers work ferociously day in and day out to keep America moving and for that, they deserve to be lifted up and celebrated. That’s why I’m so excited to team up with Super 8 on this initiative, doling out fresh new looks for some of its best guests.”

Hitting the Road in Style
Since first opening its doors in Aberdeen, S.D. in 1974, Super 8 has served as a home-away from home for millions, especially truckers, who spend an average of 300 days a year on the road. Following today’s event, the brand is taking its pop-up salon on the road—hitting seven additional Super 8 hotels over the next seven days, where it will work with local stylists to serve up fresh, new looks for hotel staff, guests and the public. Consults, cuts and styles will be available on a first come, first serve basis from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily with the first hour at each stop reserved exclusively for hotel staff and guests. More details on the events can be found at www.super8.com/makeover. Stops include:

Each headboard is hyper-localized, and emits a contemporary, postcard-feel while depicting iconic landmarks and landscapes specific to each hotel.

The BOLD Symposium and Bootcamp offer an immersive look at hotel ownership and networking at industry’s premier Black ownership and investment conference

PARSIPPANY, N.J. (July 18, 2023) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,100 hotels in over 95 countries, is hosting its second BOLD Symposium ahead of the official start of the 2023 National Association of Black Hotel Owners, Operators & Developers (NABHOOD) Hotel Ownership & Investment Summit, followed by a BOLD Bootcamp, a part of its BOLD Incubator, later in the week. The events are part of Wyndham’s commitment to furthering diversity in hospitality, focused on providing tools and resources to Black entrepreneurs who are exploring the industry and qualified individuals looking to accelerate their path to hotel ownership.

Just over a year since Black Owners and Lodging Developers (BOLD) debuted, Wyndham has awarded 25 hotel deals to Black owners. In an industry where less than two percent of owners are Black, according to 2022 data from NABHOOD, BOLD by Wyndham was created to engage and advance Black hoteliers by addressing the unique challenges faced by Black entrepreneurs. Last month, Wyndham appointed Galen Barrett to vice president, Strategic Franchise Initiatives. With nearly a decade of experience at the organization, Barrett played an integral part in the initial launch of BOLD by Wyndham in his previous role as vice president, Strategic Development. In his new, concentrated position, Barrett will now exclusively focus on the advancement of both BOLD and Wyndham’s first-of-its-kind Women Own the Room.

Accelerating the Path to Ownership
Delivering on BOLD by Wyndham’s pillar of accelerating the path to hotel ownership, BOLD by Wyndham focuses on creating and fostering a community of supporters for Black owners in hospitality. The BOLD Symposium, which takes place later today, will include an introduction to BOLD by Wyndham, an in-depth view of getting started in hotel ownership, step-by-step tips to help secure a deal and small group roundtable discussions on topics meant to give attendees tools and information to start and continue down their path to ownership. Attendees will also have the chance to network with industry experts who can advise on all aspects of hospitality.

“With our second BOLD Symposium, our goal is to enhance representation of the Black community in our industry by equipping aspiring hoteliers with tools to succeed,” said Barrett. “We seek to help today’s owners, and ensure our industry is welcoming for future generations – where Black youth see others like them succeeding in this business – that’s where BOLD can make a difference long-term.”

Later this week, Wyndham is also hosting select individuals at the BOLD Bootcamp, an event which is part of its BOLD Incubator initiative for qualified candidates with relevant business experience to accelerate their pursuit of hotel ownership. The bootcamp experience will take place at the MB Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham in Miami Beach on Thursday, July 20, and offer an in-depth view of owning and operating a hotel. The evening will include a behind-the-scenes look at hotel ownership and management, from back-of-house operations to tips on building the right team and decisions that will help maximize owner profitability and bottom line. This group will also have one-on-one access to Wyndham executives and team members who will share years of industry expertise that support their endeavour to successful ownership.

World’s largest hotel franchising company recognizes exceptional franchisees with new Wyndham Humanitarian and Wyndham Developer awards

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 27, 2019 – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: WH) – the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,200 hotels across more than 80 countries – introduced two inaugural awards honoring franchisees who embody its mission to make hotel travel possible for all at its first global conference as an independent hotel company.

The two new awards, The Wyndham Humanitarian Award and The Wyndham Developer Award, recognize franchisees who show leadership in each area by making a difference in their local community through hospitality. They complement Wyndham’s existing collection of brand awards honoring its owners for strong performance and outstanding hospitality.

“Our nearly 6,000 franchisees do extraordinary work to help us welcome the world every single day,” said Geoff Ballotti, president and CEO of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “Today, we’re taking a moment to honor those hoteliers who go above and beyond with two new awards that recognize their contribution to our industry and our communities.”

Ballotti added: “We are humbled to work with dedicated hoteliers like Nalini and Rupesh Patel, who built a hotel that allows so many families to create happy memories, and Danny Aderholt who, through his company’s development efforts, makes his communities stronger as a result of his passion for hospitality. We celebrate and thank them for all they do.”

The Wyndham Humanitarian Award: Nalini and Rupesh Patel

Nalini and Rupesh Patel, owners of the La Quinta by Wyndham San Antonio Alamo City, offer extra support for guests with mobility needs staying in the area to visit nearby Morgan’s Wonderland, an accessible theme park for people with special needs. Their new-construction La Quinta by Wyndham hotel was designed with expanded rooms, oversized entryways, barn-style doorways and lower consoles and surface areas to support guests who use wheelchairs. It also features a special, Texas-shaped pool with a unique wheelchair ramp that allows guests to enter and exit the water without drawing the same attention as a pool lift.

The Patels, avid fans of Manchester United, are passionate hoteliers who empower families to make memories through travel. They installed an engaging “selfie wall” where guests can share special moments and, in honor of Manchester United, they constructed a mini soccer field at the hotel.

“When we set out to build this hotel so close to Morgan’s Wonderland, we thought to ourselves: what can we do to make vacations enjoyable, affordable and memorable – whether it’s a staycation for locals to Texas or visitors from out of town,” said Nalini Patel, Man UTD Investments Inc. “We’re doing what we can to make it just a little bit easier on everyone so they can relax and enjoy traveling.”

Wyndham Developer Award: Century Equities Founder Danny Aderholt

Danny Aderholt is the founder of Century Equities, a real estate development company based in Wheeling, West Virginia. With 10 hotels across West Virginia and Ohio, many of them under Wyndham brands including Wingate® by Wyndham, Hawthorn Suites® by Wyndham, Microtel® by Wyndham, and Super 8® by Wyndham, Century focuses on contributing to communities through development.

In May, Aderholt and his company opened their latest hotel: a TRYP by Wyndham® in the Lawrenceville district of Pittsburgh, a community recently listed as “America’s Coolest Neighborhood.” Housed in a historic trade school building, the property was originally built in 1901 and features local art and interior design inspired by the trades formerly taught within its walls. When Aderholt, who grew up in Pittsburgh, learned of plans to tear the structure down, he viewed the challenge of transforming the historic building as a unique opportunity for Century and for the Lawrenceville neighborhood.

“I was raised in Pittsburgh and have watched this neighborhood evolve over the past fifty-plus years. My son Josh, who was instrumental in this project, has lived in Lawrenceville for over a decade with his family, so we are rooted there in many ways. Lawrenceville has become a true destination for Pittsburghers and out-of-town guests alike. As part of this community, we’ve always known how special it is, and wanted to celebrate the fabric of the neighborhood by doing something that adds to its appeal – not alters it,” Aderholt says.

The Wyndham Hotel of the Year Awards

Wyndham also recognizes hotel owners across its brands for their hard work in areas like quality, performance and guest satisfaction with more than 100 individual awards. These awards culminate in the Company’s top honor, Hotel of the Year, which recognizes the top hotel in each segment of the hospitality industry. This year’s Hotel of the Year award winners include:

  • Economy Hotel of the Year: Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lubbock Medical Center

Owned by Subodh and Mahesh Patel, longtime Days Inn® by Wyndham franchisees, the Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lubbock Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas, is a top economy hotel in its market. Subodh Patel opened his first Days Inn in 1992 and he has served on the brand’s Franchise Advisory Council for nearly 30 years, serving as chairman three times.

  • Midscale Hotel of the Year and Overall Hotel of the Year: La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cleveland

Winning biscotti recipe will be offered as a signature amenity in participating hotels and conference centers around the world

London, UK, May 28, 2019 – Dolce Hotels and Resorts by Wyndham – an upper-upscale hotel brand redefining modern meetings and events, and part of the Wyndham Hotels & Resorts portfolio – today announced the launch of Due by Dolce, a signature biscotti hand-crafted by Dolce’s expert chefs from a recipe chosen following a star-studded global bake-off competition.

Due by Dolce brings the brand’s artistic and culinary essence to life through creativity and craftsmanship. Aptly named as a nod to both the confection’s Italian roots (“dolce” means “sweet” in Italian) and the twice-baked process (“due” is the word for “two” in Italian), the biscotti will always be served as a pair, because just one of the delicious confections is never enough. Guests can enjoy them at Dolce locations around the world – including in such awe-inspiring destinations as the Greek seaside, the mountains of Colorado, or the hills of Provence – as they savor the little moments on their trip, from the minute they check-in, to their afternoon espresso or evening glass of Vin Santo.

The winning recipe was selected following a brand-wide culinary competition which culminated in a final bake-off on May 23rd at the Waitrose Cookery School in historic King’s Cross, London. Former contestants of The Great British Bake Off, Benjamina Ebuehi and Selasi Gbormittah, were on hand to coach, mentor and support two teams throughout the baking process as two finalist chefs, Chef Aleece Alexander of Dolce Aspen Meadows Resort and Chef Adrien Clauwaert of Dolce by Wyndham La Hulpe Brussels, went head-to-head to determine the ultimate winning recipe.

Chef Aleece Alexander of Dolce Aspen Meadows Resort was selected as the winner, for her innovative recipe of pistachio, apricot and cranberry biscotti.

The bake-off was judged by a panel of industry experts who evaluated taste, texture, presentation and creativity to crown the winning recipe. The judging panel included: Jessica Gunn, editor of Waitrose Magazine; Meike Back, Cookery Director of Good Housekeeping; and Giovanni Belli, President of Assocantuccini, the Association of Producers of Cantuccini Toscani (the traditional Italian biscuit which has become internationally known as biscotti) from Italy.

The winning chef, Chef Alexander of Dolce Aspen Meadows Resort, commented, “I am immensely proud and excited by this fantastic achievement. Just like Dolce by Wyndham’s culinary identity, biscotti are products of excellence and craftsmanship and we created a recipe with passion and dedication to ensure it would really give a taste of the artistry, craft and inspiration that you experience at our hotels. We are thrilled our recipe was crowned as the winner of this exhilarating bake-off and we are looking forward to bringing our signature biscotti to our guests all around the world.”

Mark Kukulski, President, Wyndham Hotel Management said: Dolce Hotels and Resorts by Wyndham is designed to inspire creativity, and what better to inspire our guests around the globe than a tasty treat such as biscotti? This bake-off truly showcased the talent and artistry across our Dolce by Wyndham culinary teams. We are thrilled to introduce Chef Alexander’s recipe to our guests around the world as a signature amenity they can only find at Dolce hotels, reminding them that wherever their destination, they should stop and savour every moment.”

Classic New Jersey landmark to renovate 296 guestrooms, event spaces and dining outlets; $17 Million transformation to be completed for summer 2019

GALLOWAY, NJ (October 16, 2018): Seaview, a Dolce Hotel – part of the renowned meetings and events brand Dolce Hotels and Resorts by Wyndham – today announced plans for a transformational renovation updating its 296 guest rooms, event spaces and dining outlets with modern design inspired by the hotel’s celebrated Jersey Shore history.

The renovation comes on the heels of new ownership for the hotel, which was sold in August 2018 to Dr. Kiran Patel, Florida philanthropist and Wyndham partner on landmark hotels including the striking Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach in Florida and prominent Dolce Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado.

The $17 million renovation will include updates to all 296 guestrooms and suites; refreshed meeting spaces, lobby and public areas; renovations to the outdoor pool; and new dining options including a new original restaurant concept within the hotel’s famed Oval Room. To sustain the massive renovation, guest rooms and meeting spaces will be closed to visitors for the winter months, reopening starting in March 2019. The hotel’s golf course remains open.

“Seaview is a beloved icon of the Jersey Shore community with a rich local history shared by many guests who have spent generations vacationing here – and even team members who spend their entire careers, some of them across several generations of families, working with us at the resort,” said General Manager Bob Nelson. “This transformation is the dawn of a new era for Seaview and will provide our guests a modern east coast destination resort and, true to the Dolce brand, a harbor for inspired meetings and events – all while still embracing the past that shaped our celebrated story.”

Founded in 1914, the historic Seaview Hotel has hosted famed names such as Presidents Warren G. Harding and Dwight D. Eisenhower, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Grace Kelly – who in 1946, celebrated her sweet 16 party in the resort’s legendary Oval Room. This history inspires the hotel’s redesign, which includes a hint of art deco nostalgia – a playful nod to Atlantic City’s heyday – paired with cool, coastal blues and modern, comfortable furnishings.

The coastal motif carries into the hotel’s 27,000 sq. ft. of event space, which caters to a variety of social events with customizable menus and packages for weddings with both indoor and outdoor ceremony venues, bar and bat mitzvahs, family reunions and fundraisers.

As part of the Dolce brand, Seaview will also offer state-of-the-art meeting facilities across 21 meeting rooms designed specifically to stimulate productivity and creative thinking. The hotel offers Dolce’s signature Nourishment Hubs, rethinking the cliché afternoon coffee break with fresh, energizing refreshments throughout the day as well as its “Thoughtful Foods for Thoughtful Minds” program offering menus with wholesome ingredients and convenient, flexible options.

Meeting planners at Seaview, a Dolce Hotel, benefit from Wyndham’s go meet, a formal rewards program catering to both professional and casual meeting/event planners. Planners who are members of the Wyndham Rewards loyalty program can earn one point for every dollar spent on qualifying revenue, regardless of billing method, with no minimum spend requirement and no maximum point limit. On average, meeting planners earn 45,000 points per meeting—enough for three free nights at any of Wyndham’s hotels around the world.
