LONDON (17 October 2024) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has signed an exclusive development agreement with NILE Hospitality LLP to introduce its Microtel by Wyndham brand to India, marking the eighth Wyndham brand to debut in the country. This strategic alliance enables Wyndham to leverage a leading regional third-party developer and operator to bring its award-winning brand to India.
With Wyndham’s global presence and NILE’s expertise across India, the Company anticipates opening 40 Microtel hotels by 2031, all of which will be direct franchisees of Wyndham, as part of its ambitious and robust growth strategy. Innovative program, now available to all U.S. Days Inn, Ramada and Microtel franchisees,
helps hotels save tens of thousands of dollars compared to traditional renovation programs
PARSIPPANY, N.J., (April 11, 2023) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,100 hotels spanning more than 95 countries, today announced the expansion of its Manufacturer Direct program. First launched in 2022 for Days Inn® by Wyndham, the program—now available to Ramada® by Wyndham and Microtel® by Wyndham franchisees—helps hotels undergoing renovations save an average of 20 percent or more in cost versus traditional renovation programs.
Built on the pillars of driving greater transparency, value creation and owner engagement throughout the renovation process, Wyndham’s Manufacturer Direct program enables owners to take a hands-on approach to renovations, giving full line of sight into costs and lead times while unlocking substantial savings.
“We take an owner first approach to franchising, and our Manufacturer Direct program delivers on greater transparency and higher savings in the renovation process, particularly for franchisees who want to be more hands-on and don’t require the support and services of our more traditional offerings,” said David Kellam, vice president Design and Construction, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “By enabling hotels to order everything directly and serve as their own project manager, we’re helping them unlock substantial cost-savings—as much as $50,000 on a 90-room Days Inn renovation—all while delivering an updated, high-quality, modern guest experience that aligns with Wyndham brand standards.”
Franchisees opting to take advantage of Wyndham’s Manufacturer Direct program connect with pre-approved vendors so they can manage all aspects of their own renovation. By overseeing the process and fulfilling the role of a more traditional project manager, including placing orders, handling installations and tracking timelines, franchisees remove many of the elements that can drive up costs for renovations.
Elevated Designs, Transparent Savings Wyndham’s Manufacturer Direct program makes it easy for franchisees to adopt the latest brand designs while helping ensure compliance with Wyndham brand standards. Among the room packages currently available:
Days Inn by Wyndham – Dawn Helping Days Inn make every day brighter for its guests, the Dawn room design takes its inspiration from the sun featuring bright and airy rooms with signature, sun-centric art of local landscapes and attractions. Furniture and fixtures are light and modern, emphasize in-room connectivity and feature vibrant pops of yellow throughout. Franchisees interested in seeing how Dawn will look in one of their existing rooms can generate a preview by uploading a photo to Wyndham’s new AI-driven Hotel Room RestylerSM, available here. A full Dawn room package through Wyndham’s Manufacturer Direct program costs approximately $2,400 per key for all furniture, fixtures and soft goods, with packages available in single king and double queen configurations. Since launch, hundreds of hotels have taken advantage of the program, resulting in millions of dollars in renovations.
Ramada by Wyndham – Ruby Anchored by Ramada’s commitment to helping guest sample the world, the Ruby room design is a modern and elevated re-imagination of one of the world’s most globally recognized brands. Featuring sleek bedding, dark woods, and thoughtfully placed notes of red, rooms help to immerse guests in local culture through dramatic, regionally inspired art and other touches. A full Ruby room package through Wyndham’s Manufacturer Direct program costs approximately $2,600 per key and is available in single king and double queen configurations.
Microtel by Wyndham – Moda Showcasing Microtel’s modern yet minimalist aesthetic, the Moda room is designed to maximize space and efficiency while elevating the guest experience. Featuring stylish, space-conscious furnishings; crisp, modern bedding; and energizing hues of blue and yellow, rooms are a quiet and welcoming respite for travelers eager to escape the chaos of the day-to-day. A full Moda room package through Wyndham’s Manufacturer Direct program costs approximately $2,800 per key and is available in a double queen configuration.
“What I love about Wyndham’s Manufacturer Direct program is the control and transparency it gave me in overseeing my hotel’s renovation, and how easy it was to work with manufacturers” said Nilesh Patel, Days Inn by Wyndham FAC member and owner of the newly remodeled Days Inn by Wyndham in El Cajon, Calif. “Not only did it allow me to manage the project in the way that I knew was best for my business, but the savings I was able to realize freed up capital that I’m now able to deploy into other areas of my business. As an owner, that’s a huge win.”
Wyndham plans to expand its Manufacturer Direct program later this year, next welcoming AmericInn by Wyndham franchisees with additional brands slated to follow.
Tailored Solutions for Every Type of Owner In addition to offerings through its Manufacturer Direct program, Wyndham franchisees can still access more traditional renovation programs through its Procurement Service Providers (PSP). Doing so allows franchisees to customize their approach to renovations, ideal for those who are navigating complex renovations, juggling several projects or wanting to have a less active role in the process. PSPs allow franchisees complete control to customize their level of support and offer different levels of pricing. Service options may include placing orders and managing distribution, to assisting with layout and design, or even start to finish project management support overseeing every detail of a renovation from budget to timeline, design and everything in between.
“We recognize that no two hotel owners are the same and because of that, renovation needs, including third-party support and assistance, are going to vary from one hotel to the next,” added Kellam. “With the addition of our Manufacturer Direct program, Wyndham now has one of, if not the most, robust offerings for franchisees looking to renovate their hotels. What’s more, regardless of which path a franchisee chooses, they can rest easy knowing they’re getting high quality products that conform with their brand’s specific standards.”

Following the success of the La Quinta LQUp renovation incentive program, the Company’s latest initiative supports Microtel by Wyndham franchisees in enhancing quality, performance and guest satisfaction
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (August 3, 2021) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with approximately 9,000 hotels across nearly 95 countries, today announced its new Microtel Lift Incentive Program. This landmark program is being introduced on the heels of a successful renovation incentive program for La Quinta by Wyndham, known as the LQUp Incentive Program, and further solidifies Wyndham’s dedication and support for its franchisees. With a committed investment of over $40 million over the next three years, these two programs help owners continue to raise the brands’ profiles, while enhancing the guest experience and helping to achieve long-term success.
The Microtel Lift Incentive Program supports Microtel by Wyndham owners based in the U.S. by offering forgivable note funding of up to $2,000 per room from Wyndham to supplement franchisees’ investment in hotel renovations that reflect elements of the brand’s new design-forward Moda prototype, which is the first of its kind in the economy select service segment.
Centered on smart, modern design – and with the understanding that cleanliness and efficiency are of increasing importance to travelers – Moda elevates the award-winning Microtel by Wyndham brand. The thoughtful design approach complements existing Microtel hotels and allows hotel owners to optimize operational efficiencies, drive greater returns, and adapt the design to best suit market and customer needs.
“Wyndham Hotels & Resorts remains strongly committed to helping owners improve the quality and performance of their hotels, increase their guests’ satisfaction, and best position their business for ultimate success,” said Geoff Ballotti, President and CEO, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. “We know renovation projects play a critical role in that journey, as proven by the success our owners have seen from other brand renovation programs over the last several years, including the highly successful LQUp and Super 8 Innov8te Programs. This significant investment will help accelerate the adoption of new design standards for Microtel by Wyndham and bring important elements of Microtel’s Moda design to more destinations, reaching more everyday travelers.”
Microtel’s Lift Incentive Program follows in the footsteps of La Quinta’s successful LQUp Incentive Program, launched in 2020 that facilitates comprehensive upgrades to the hotel exterior, signage, public spaces, guestrooms, fitness center, breakfast offering and more. All renovations reflect La Quinta’s highly-sought after Del Sol design, which was created with the objective to maximize revenue-per-sq.-ft. while maintaining a competitive cost per key, and features a fresh, stylish and innovative design to provide guests with comfort and convenience while enabling productivity.
Through the LQUp Incentive Program, qualified La Quinta by Wyndham franchisees in the U.S. have received forgivable note funding of $2,000 per room to supplement their investment in hotel renovations. More than 80 properties have already completed renovations as part of this program, including properties in Dallas and Odessa, Texas; Salem, Ore.; St. Petersburg and Tampa, Fla.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Clovis, N.M.; and Las Vegas, Nev. Hotels that have completed an LQUp renovation have, on average, seen increases in RevPAR since completing their renovations. In addition to the sites that have completed LQUp renovations, more than 100 hotels are currently undergoing renovations under the program.
Dedicated to guest service and satisfaction, La Quinta by Wyndham offers an elevated stay in a contemporary setting and is a top provider of select-service lodging with accommodations that appeal to both business and leisure travelers. With thoughtful amenities and friendly service, this brand consistently delivers an exceptional guest experience that keeps travelers waking up on the bright side. The brand’s performance remains strong, gaining 490 basis points of RevPAR Index in 2020 against its competitive set, according to STR data.
Wyndham’s size and global footprint offer unique, comprehensive, and operating advantages for owners, including a diverse portfolio of brands, reduced distribution costs, and strategic development and sourcing. These programs deepen Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ commitment to offering its franchisees continuous support and dependability.

Elevated, cost-effective design caters to drive-to travelers, looks to optimize operational efficiencies while rivaling midscale aesthetic and performance
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (July 14, 2020) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with 9,300 hotels across approximately 90 countries, today announced the opening of the 63-room Microtel® by Wyndham in George, Wash.—the first hotel in the world to feature the brand’s innovative and highly efficient Moda prototype.
Centered on smart, minimalist design, Moda elevates the award-winning Microtel by Wyndham brand while streamlining the development process with thoughtful choices that not only help deliver a better guest experience but can afford developers the opportunity for large, incremental savings. The ultimate goal: midscale aesthetic and performance but at economy costs.
Originally designed with the understanding that cleanliness and efficiency are of increasing importance to travelers—now even more so in today’s environment—Microtel’s purposeful approach is creating strong interest from developers looking to add Moda to their portfolios.
“More than ever, development costs and return on investment are what matter most, which is why any developer looking to grow or diversify their portfolio needs to have Moda on their list,” said Microtel by Wyndham Brand Leader and Vice President of Operations, Keri Putera. “Inexpensive to build, designed for drive-to business and easy to clean and maintain, it’s a game changer in the new-construction space. We believe there’s nothing else like it.”
The Moda prototype was developed in collaboration with seasoned Microtel owners and award-winning architect firm, Hoefer Wysocki. Moda reduces Microtel’s total footprint by nearly 30 percent versus the prior prototype and delivers more than 70 percent of rentable space—one of the strongest rentable footprints in both the economy and midscale segments. The prototype includes a three-story and a four-story option, helping it meet the needs of most any location.
“As a seasoned commercial real estate developer who wanted to branch out into hospitality, I was incredibly impressed by the team at Wyndham and the Microtel Moda prototype,” said Microtel by Wyndham George Owner Caleb McNamara. “It’s a thoughtful design, punches above its weight-class when it comes to looks, is cost-effective and easy to build. It’s exactly what we were looking for.”
The Microtel by Wyndham George, the brand’s first hotel in the state of Washington, helps Microtel continue its expansion across the United States. Another Microtel by Wyndham featuring the Moda prototype is slated to open later this year in Hot Springs, Ark. Other markets under development include Destin and Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Saint Rose and Chalmette, La.; Asheville, N.C. and Midland, Texas.
The Microtel by Wyndham Moda prototype builds on key learnings from the industry-leading design and construction practices of La Quinta® by Wyndham and is an important step in Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ new-construction growth strategy, focused on delivering long-term value and quality for owners. Announces multi-unit agreement for five new-construction hotels expanding brand’s growing pipeline
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (August 13, 2019) – Microtel® by Wyndham, the award-winning economy hotel brand under Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: WH), today announced an agreement with developer Pete Patel for five new properties under the brand’s innovative Moda prototype design. Just five months after launching the prototype, designed to increase operational efficiencies and lower development costs for hoteliers, Microtel by Wyndham’s pipeline is expanding with over a dozen new hotels adopting the design.
The agreement with Patel calls for Microtel by Wyndham properties in strategic growth markets including Destin and Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; Saint Rose and Chalmette, La.; and Midland, Texas. Patel also participated in the brand’s developer council, an advisory collective of owners, operators and managers with diverse portfolios across the industry who worked closely with designers to integrate their feedback into the Moda design.
“It goes a long way to see that a brand truly cares about the feedback from owners and developers,” said Patel. “The Wyndham team included us in the creative process as they were designing the Moda prototype for Microtel, which shows me that they care about evolving their brands in ways that work for those of us who build and operate them. It’s all about having a collaborative relationship with the brand, which is why we are excited to build these new Microtel hotels.”
Another member of the council, Mayur Patel of KM Hotels, also recently signed agreements for a prototypical Microtel by Wyndham hotel in Asheville, N.C. as well as a La Quinta® by Wyndham in Richmond, Va.
“The Moda prototype represents the evolution of Microtel, and we’re seeing that evolution come to life as we bring on new franchisees who value its efficiencies and smart design,” said Keri Putera, vice president, Brand Operations, Microtel by Wyndham. “The entire design was created in partnership with franchisees and developers who shared their expertise to help us craft one of the most efficient buildings in the business. We’re grateful for those relationships, which are now expanding into new partnerships for the brand.”
Microtel by Wyndham emphasizes modern efficiency and minimalism for today’s guest and owner. The Moda prototype elevates the brand’s design while aiming to reduce building costs, optimizing efficiencies and helping drive greater returns for franchisees. Moda reduces Microtel’s total footprint by 28 percent versus the prior prototype and delivers more than 70 percent of rentable space – one of the strongest rentable footprints in both the economy and midscale segments.
Microtel by Wyndham is the epitome of efficiency: it outperforms the segment, offers streamlined operations and leads its peers in guest satisfaction. Just last month, the brand was once again ranked first in the economy segment, securing the highest guest satisfaction rating in the 2019 J.D. Power North America Hotel Guest Satisfaction Index Survey.
The brand’s prototype is an important step in Wyndham Hotels & Resorts’ new-construction growth strategy, focused on delivering long-term value and quality for owners. Further elevating the experience for the everyday traveler and entrepreneurial hotelier, the Company’s development strategy prioritizes smart, long-term investment in the economy and midscale segments by proven hoteliers and takes a page from the best practices employed by its recently acquired La Quinta® by Wyndham brand.
The first hotels leveraging the new prototype are set to break ground later this year. As of June 2019, Microtel has 93 hotels in the development pipeline – 67 in the United States and 26 internationally.
