PARSIPPANY, N.J., November 8, 2021 – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, Inc. (NYSE: WH) announced today that it has entered into a definitive agreement with CorePoint Lodging (“CPLG”) concerning the termination of all remaining Wyndham hotel management agreements (“HMAs”) upon consummation of the merger announced by CPLG today.

The termination is conditioned upon the closing of CPLG’s sale, which is targeted to occur in the first quarter of 2022. Upon termination of the HMAs, CPLG will pay termination fees to Wyndham of approximately $84 million.

“The termination of these management contracts will mark our exit from the lower margin, resource intensive select-service management business and afford us the opportunity to focus on the continued growth of our asset-light and highly profitable, cash generative franchising business,” said Geoffrey A. Wyndham’s related franchise agreements are expected to remain in-place at the current fee structure (5% royalties plus 4.5% for marketing and reservation services).

Amplified by the challenges of the pandemic, 82% of moms say planning a family getaway is more stressful than it used to be; 78% admit to being even more tired after vacation than before they left

Whether it’s navigating the world of virtual-learning or juggling the growing challenge of the office colliding with home, over the last 20-months, moms’ roles have become bigger and more demanding than ever before. That’s why this holiday season, La Quinta by Wyndham is launching “Thankful for Mom,” a brand-first series of virtual meetups aimed at connecting moms coast-to-coast while helping them overcome the stress and challenges of work, home and holiday travel.

Strategic growth of new construction prototypes drives new construction pipeline of over 950 hotels across company’s brands

(June 14, 2021) – Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with over 8,900 hotels across nearly 95 countries, has continued strong momentum in new construction for its newly introduced prototypes and dual-branded hotels. In the 12 months from April 2020 to March 2021, Wyndham has executed nearly 100 new construction deals across the United States, achieving approximately 90 percent of the previous 12 months’ pre-pandemic levels. The company’s new construction pipeline now includes over 260 hotels that are currently under construction contributing to an overall new construction pipeline of 950 hotels, which will add approximately 140,000 rooms to its domestic and international portfolio.

New-build, dual-brand hotel will be Wyndham’s first pairing of these celebrated select-service and extended-stay lodging brands

This marks the first-ever pairing of these two flags under the same roof and enables owners to target both the business transient and extended-stay demand within any given market. The company has 36 La Quinta and Hawthorn dual-branded hotels in its development pipeline in markets such as San Antonio and El Paso, Texas; Yuma, Ariz.; Wichita, Kan.; Charlotte, N.C.

The property is slated to open in March 2022 with a combined 100 guestrooms – 30 of which will feature the recently updated Hawthorn room design that includes modern, well-equipped kitchens for extended-stay guests.
